Some books for the Library...

Carine Roitfeld's book, Irreverent! takes a look back at her 30 year career in fashion.

Pictures 1988
Herb Ritts' photographs have quickly become the quintessential distillation of American pop culture in the eighties. Ritts' portraits of celebrities are at once monumental, recognisable, and often sexually charged. His pictures of rock star Madonna have given cachet to all she hopes to sell the world; glamour, sex and song. Sylvester Stallone, another pop icon, seems to parody himself with his macho posturing in Ritts' photographs. Others joining the parade are Pee Wee Herman, Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, Shirley MacLaine and Beach Boy Brian Wilson.

Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel captures the world of fashion icon and cult figure Diana Vreeland, who transformed life into an adventure and revolutionised fashion

Arguably the most influential, imaginative, and provocative designer of his generation, Alexander McQueen both challenged and expanded fashion conventions to express ideas about race, class, sexuality, religion, and the environment. Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty examines the full breadth of the designer’s career.

David Hicks - La Fiorentina in Black and white

WHOOP WHOOP!!!

I want to have curtain's made from it for the master bed.

I'm thinking floor to ceiling and wall to wall...when open - curtains will sit up against the wall to right hand side of the image below.

The curtain pole/rail will sit above and in front of the bay window and will run the full length of the wall.

Ammonite Fossil...

On our last day in the Lake District we drove into Ambleside and came across a shop full of fossil's...It had this amazing Ammonite - which is nearly 50cm dia and weighs a tone!

I pulled a mussel trying to get it in the back of the car...

Of course Jonathan just sat on his backside and watched me!!!

Ceiling lights...

After a MASSIVE argument with Jonathan in the car on our way to the Lake District for a weekend away with friends...I filled the rest of my time/car journey with SHOPPING on my iphone!!! and could'nt believe me luck when coming across the celling lights below...

Master + ensuite...

The master + ensuite are almost finished...

The paint work has been completed apart from the last coat of floor paint - this will be the last thing the decorators do throughout the hole house.

Both of the fires need to be sealed with 3 or 4 coats of sealant - this will make the colour of them even darker...

Still waiting on the arrival of the glass shower screen - this now should be with us on Tue.

I've had the inside of the built in wardrobes painted with Pitch Black farrow and ball floor paint - this gives a good indication of what the floor will look like when completed.

Even more paint....

All the walls and the ceiling within the hall and landing have now been sprayed with All White farrow and ball paint - the skirting board still needs seeing to...

+ the staircase needs to be fished off with pitch black floor paint

All this MUCK and dust is making me VERY twitchy!!! My OCD is on overdrive...

BUT - at least...you can start to see what the end result will look like when all the painting is finished!
