ONLINE STORE...

OK - So I'm actually within the final stages of launching www.47parkavenue.co.uk the online concept store showcasing local artist’s and artisans work from East Yorkshire and a place where you can buy the look, feel and smell of www.47parkavenue.co.uk even listen to our sound track.

Some images from the site...

Ive worked with Brian who installed the neon within 'The Boardwalk' sign that I have by my home office desk on a small collection of neon lights.

This bag is was designed by my very good friend Nikki who uses manufacturers that are also based in East Yorkshire! Each bag is cut and stitched by hand. Nikki uses finest Full Grain Leathers from the Yorkshire Dales.

We are also showcasing a small selection of local artists from East Yorkshire that produce AMAZING artwork!
Paintings - sculpture - photography - sketches.

I've also worked with Gillian by using her traditional quilt making skills on our very own range of hand made quilted cushions and quilts with a contrasting trim.

I'm also working with Victoria who makes the most amazing range of handmade scented soya wax candles.
I'm currently working with Victoria on our very own exclusive range of candles.
If you haven't already, please register your interest by clicking the link www.47parkavenue.co.uk hitting the SUBSCRIBE FOR UPDATES button, add your email address...I can then notify you of the launch.

I still can't get my head around it!!! Feeling SUPER STRESSED and sick to the core!!!

The 7 best home renovation blogs...

I was contacted by Rebecca Thienes from www.glo.msn.com asking if they could use some images from the house, which I agreed to...Not - really thinking anything more about it until I saw the article.

( Did I just read that right!!! YOU SAY WHAT??? )

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to Rebecca and everyone at www.glo.msn.com

I normally HATE surprises...BUT - this is one of a few that have turned out to be VERY nice!

Never did I think that such things would/could happen when I started this blog, which was stared for our own personal use for something to look back onto when/if we EVER finish the renovation work!

Reception 1 to do list...

I cant stop feeling like everything I'm doing is WRONG and I'm making too many mistakes, I haven't a Fluffing clue what I'm doing or where I'm going!!!

I'm not one of those interior designer folk that live and breath all of this...

( HUGE LIE - IT'S ALL CONSUMING )

There are only two areas in the house that I really like...My dressing room and Home Office, Is this because they look more finished than everywhere else?

I know this is a process I've got to get through...BUT - I'm SO over it at the moment!

Anyway - Because of how I'm feeling about things, I made a few purchases over the weekend to see if its going to help me get out this frame of mind and have pulled together some sort of TO DO LIST!

On my Reception 1 to do list...

1 - Re paint ceiling in Farrow & Ball Off black instead of the Pitch black we already have.

2 - Keep All White Farrow and Ball on walls and floor just freshen up.

3 - Ive just purchased this floor cushion in a petrol blue, medium in size as this room is crying out for texture among other stuff!

4 - Remove pineapple based lamp from the hospital trolly and replace with NEW lamp ( image below ).

5 - Also purchased at the weekend 2 of these jugs ( image below ) I'm thinking on slate hearth!

6 - Another one of these floor cushions ( image below ) in purple to sit next the arm chair within the bay window.

7 - I've asked Martin to remove this door and shelve this wall...from top to bottom and up and over the door frame.

I'm planing on painting the shelves in Farrow and Ball Down pipe ( images below ).

8 - Replace concrete based lamp on table with the other NEW lamp ( image below ) Planter needed for Fiddle leaf + the addition of the chair in the last image which was again purchased at the weekend.

Even though all of this is in the pipe line...I bet you, when all of this is done and dusted!

It will only shine a light on 10 other things that need to be addressed!

Bedroom 2...Before&After...

WOW - I'd kinda forgotten about this...

The image above is a picture of how the dressing room looked when we purchased 47 Park Avenue!

AND - this image, is a picture of how that very same dressing room looks today!

Could the 2 be anymore different?

Just like me and Jonathan...beauty and the beast.

How time fly's...when your supposed to be having FUN! It's no wonder I don't have any friends.

And - another before image...this picture shows you the wall which separated the old en- suite and dressing room, the wall was added by the previous owners as this was originally 1 room the 2nd bedroom!

Same view as before! Wall removed and back to one room...KINDA!

Toilet GONE!!! Can you imagine having this in the bedroom.

NO THNAKS! Not - while I'm trying to sleep!

This room is still very much WORK IN PROGRESS!

Although - After seeing the NEW additions within my dressing room Jonathan informs me...

"You cant fit anymore SHIT in ere"

To which I reply...

"BITCH PLEASE!!!"

IVE SAID IT ONCE, BUT - I'LL SAY AGAIN! DONT HATE ME!

GOOGLE READER...will no longer be available after the 1st of July!

SO - If my miss use of grammar, terrible spelling and shocking photography hasn't put you off!

Reception 1...Before&Afters...

My mother LOVED this house before I apparently wrecked it...

"It was SO - homely and cosy"

At least I now know what kind of nursing home to stick her in when she starts wearing nappy's again!

( JOKING )

Just look at the mess Ive made so far...AND - as this is very much work in progress its going to be an even bigger mess when Im done!

It just needs MORE,  LOTS MORE...of everything!

To be honest...I do like a little bit of chintz, if you follow me on FACEBOOK you'll what I mean, BUT - this kinda chintz doesn't do it for me...thats why it had to go.

I think you call it, GRANNY ATTIC CHIC!

I know this doesn't look too HOT at the moment, SO - I'm going to reupholster both chairs and even though I LOVE this lamp, I'm planing on changing it to something bigger!!!

What am I going to do with that SATAN box?

Why cant the company's that make these hideous things have colour options when it comes to the screen?

A black screen for dark walls and a white screen for those of us the have white.

SIMPLES!!!

Bedroom 2...

We decided to collect the mirrors for the en-suite ourselves instead of having them delivered as originally planned...

Only because I wanted to visit a neighbouring store as they sell some gardening stuff and as I'm now on a mission to find pots LARGE enough for my Fiddle leaf fig trees, it seemed like a good idea.

And - can you believe it!!! We drove all that way and I came away empty handed.

Thats the 1st time I've walked outa that store without a bag or 2!

Anyway - Ikea is also just around the corner and we had 45mins to get around there before it closed to sniff out some pots!

( I could score bath salts quicker than all of this SHIZ!!! )

Ikea...is like landing on the moon for me, one giant leap!

I HATE it! It makes me proper CRAY.

SO - We side track the showroom and bum rush the so called market area!

Where I find hanging from the celling...a black and white patterned rug, SO - I'm reading the swing ticket, its 200cm by 200cm its located on shelve 85 and it's ONLY £55!!!

We pick up the rug form shelve 85 and head to the gardening section...And - NO POTS BIG ENOUGH!!! AAAaaaRRRrrrGGGGggggHHhhhh....when will this all end?

Martin has just finished hanging the mirrors, SO - I though it a good idea to unwrap the rug, roll out and let it breath!

AND - to my surprise!

The black and white square rug with the brightly coloured boarder that I thought we purchased...

Turns out to be JUST black and white, rectangular in shape and twice the size!

SOMEBODY SHOOT ME!

I didn't even want the rug...I got sucked in by its cheapness!

The joy that is shopping at IKEA.

Anyway - Adding the mirrors and the rug to the en-suite have made me realise that I do need to add texture to the wall behind the basins and pattern to the floor.

Just when you think your moving in the right direction, BAM!!! 2 more things you need to add to your  todo list!
