Came across your blog last week and have made my way all the way back to the beginning. Great house and great choices you're making, amazing to see it come together. And so spectacularly different from what went on before. I do think though that experiencing the chaos of a renovation, gives you that craving to have it all done already. Yesterday, as a matter of fact. And also makes every choice of door knob, hinge, taps etc seem overwhelmingly crucial. One tends to lose perspective a bit. It takes time to live in a space and figure out traffic patterns, rooms you use, rooms you don't. Where the best daylight to read the morning paper is and so on. So those financial constraints work in your favour, giving you time, and you never know what fabulous lights you might stumble upon next month! Relax and enjoy the process as much as you can, because once the house is filled and furnished there's a whole lot less to play with. Best of luck, M
ReplyDeleteBy the way you might enjoy manhattan-nest.com. He too is is a fan of only black and white walls. Although he's still at uni and living in various rented digs, he's game to try his hand at anything and VERY funny. Sorry, didn't mean to write a whole novel here.....
LOVING!...manhattan-nest.com. Thank you. AND - I'll try to relax a bit more...although I don't know if it will work! There's SO much to do!
DeleteLooks incredible! You have great, unique taste.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Ashleigh x
DeleteAH.. your house is so incredible..
ReplyDeleteThank you...x x
DeleteBeautiful choices you are making! May I ask what color you painted the ceiling in the cinema room? Might just be the light but it looks like a blue. I love blues but have a hard time picking them out. So hard to pin down something with vividness AND subtlety.
ReplyDeleteThe cinema room is all black...I think its the contrast form the direct sun light and the darkness from the room that's making thing's a little tricky! Maybe?
Deleteiiiiiiiiiiiiii bulldog, I love them. I have frenchi and am so happy with him:) They are the best:))
ReplyDeleteHi Arnela...Jonathan would like us to have a frenchi...BUT - having 3 dogs already can be too much hard work. x
